Undergraduate Research Scholars
In the spring of 2015, I completed the Undergraduate Research Scholar distinction from Texas A&M Honors and Undergraduate Research with my undergraduate thesis on the effects of conflict and entrepreneurship on peace building in Palestine.
In cooperation with Dr. Ashley Passmore, I selected and researched my topic over the course of two academic semesters and produced a final paper of over 10,000 words.
My research revolved around the state of entrepreneurship in Palestine and, more specifically, its potential to contribute positively to peace-building between Israelis and Palestinians. Through a comprehensive study of macro- and microeconomic indicators, security policies, corruption, and entrepreneurial activities (accompanied by a statistical analysis of these indicators), I produced a series of policy recommendations intended to serve as a basis for government-level changes that could offer an improved foundation for constructive peace dialogues.
At Texas A&M's Undergraduate Research Fair, the poster presentation of my project won 2nd place in its category, and also received the Melbern G. Glasscock Humanities Award.

Cornerstone Capstone Project
For the spring of my freshman year, my classmates and I in the Cornerstone Program selected the history of the Czech Republic as our elective topic of study for the second part of the freshman program. We spent half the semester engaged in an in-depth reading, discussion, and analysis of its history, which culminated in a trip to Prague over Spring Break of that year. After the trip, we selected individual aspects of the country to write a research paper over for the remainder of the year. We also gave a I chose for my topic the revival of the Czech economy after the fall of communism.
In my first attempt at a professional-style research paper, I learned how to locate relevant research articles, manage limited time effectively, explain esoteric topics in a succinct, easy to understand way, and most importantly, I familiarized myself with the basics of policy analysis through my study of Czech policy responses to a rapidly changing economic system.
